Peace Poster Project

Our Club submitted 16 posters from 3 schools namely SJKC Kong Min Pusat, SJKC Kong Min Caw 1, SJKC Kong Min Caw 2 for the LCI/District/Regional Peace Poster contest.

(29/9/2020) Health Awareness Project

(Diabetes, Childhood Cancer, Hunger awareness & Blood Donation)

PP Hing Lee Hong who was appointed the Club Chairperson for the 4 LCI Service Projects, attended the 1st meeting which was held at Wisma Tun Dr. Lim Chong Eu at 8pm on 29/9/2020. The project proper will be held on later this year on 26/12/20(Saturday) between hours from 10am to 4pm.

Todate, 12 Lions Clubs in Region 1 have agreed to jointly organised the project. PP Hing reported the followings discussed.

☆Diabetes

-diabetes kits will be test

- Diabetes talk by professional

☆Childhood cancer -awareness by beauty queens

-cancer patients will be coming

-childhood cancer information to be spread

☆hunger awareness

- funds raising to orphanage, old folks, unfortunate people

- knowledge of hungers

☆Blood donation

- min of 100 packs to GH

(27/9/2020) Attending Joint Installation of 11 Lions Clubs from Region 1

5 GTM Lions and Mr. Alvin attended the Joint Installation of 11 Lions Clubs from Region 1.They were President Saran, IPP (Z4C) Samantha Sam, PP (DC) Joyline Chai, Lion Darren Lee, Lion Eric Ch'ng and his friend Alvin. The function was held at Penang Golf Club on 27/9/2020.

Our new members were introduced to several Lion dignitaries including PID Datin Hjh Ellis Suriyati Hj Omar and they soon moved around to get to know other Lions from other club.

PID Datin Hjh Ellis Suriyati was introduced to our new members and she presented each of them a LCIF Empowering Service Pin.

(26/9/2020) Region 1 Recycle (Environmental) Project - E-Refurbishing to E-Learning

President Saran and Club Chairperson for the project, Eric Ch'ng attended the R1 Recycling (Environmental) project with a Handover of E-Learning Devices Ceremony at Sunshine Departmental Store & Supermarket, Bayan Lepas, Penang. The objective was to collect and refurbish PC, laptop, smart phone for needy students. Lion Eric said that our club collected many items including 4 monitors, a elite desktop, 3 laptop and a tablet.

(20/9/2020) Peace Poster Project

CP Danny Lim and PP Peter Koay presented Peace Poster Kits to 3 schools namely SJKC Kong Min Pusat, SJKC Kong Min Caw 1, SJKC Kong Min Caw 2 to participated in the Peace Poster Contest.

PP Kenny Yang represented our club at the Region 5 Joint Installation of Presidents and BOD fy 2020-2021

16/9/2020) 'GOLDEN LION' presentation at Club's 3rd Regular Meeting

Members with 40 years of Lionistic services and/or age 80 years above were considered as The Golden Lions. Five Lions from our club were recipients, namely: PCC Allan Cheah, CP Danny Lim, PP Quah B.A., PP Anthony Goh and PP Leong W.K.

PCC Allan Cheah was invited to make the presentation to the recipients witnessed by President Saran and IPP Sam who is also the Zone 4 Chairperson during our Club's 3rd Regular Meeting.

8/9/2020) Working Together to Relief Hunger

President Saran, IPP Samantha Sam and Lion Daphne Wong together with the KSK volunteers, took turn to serve hot meals for the homeless of Penang's inner city. This has been an on going project since 2011.
